Another DIY project

I saw this great teacher sign on Pinterest and decided I could make one for myself and each of my team.  They turned out pretty cute - but you can't look too closely at the painted letters! I used a pack of 4 canvases from Michaels and some leftover paint from the clipboards and clothespins I did earlier in the summer.

This Week's Project

We're planning on implementing the Daily 5 this year, so for a Working on Writing item I made some storycubes.  I bought a set of 13 1" wooden cubes at Hobby Lobby.  I had some leftover paint from the clothespin project, and I used it to paint the cubes.  There are four of us in the 4th/5th team, so each of us will get a set of 3 cubes.  Then, we can swap during the year.  Once they were painted, I found some clipart pictures, printed and cut them out, then mod podged them onto the sides of the cubes.  Hopefully the kids will love them.

What do you use for story starters?
